Psychodrama vs. Roleplay : The Distinction

» BDSM, D/s, S&M: Speculations

If you’ve searched the web for F/m themed things you’ve probably run across the Max Fisch Domina Guide.

Recently I discovered there’s a forum beneath it, called The Hang.

Really I don’t have time for forums right now but I did decide to add my two cents to one discussion.

In response to a question about the difference between playing a role and experiencing psychodrama one man ventured this:

In my opinion, there is no difference. Psycho drama is role play, but very intense play, that delves more into intense mind games.

My - possibly overvalued - two cents:

That is a pretty good distinction.

In my case I’d say it is when I forget that it is role-playing.

When I go deep with my beloved it gets to where I shudder if she pets me. My feelings of humility are overwhelming.

Best of all is when obedience seems involuntary. As if my body were bypassing my brain and responding directly to hers.

Like most things the distinction is really idiosyncratic and individual: a general definition only has so much utility.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Psychodrama vs. Roleplay : The Distinction. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
