Hoods

» D/s Practices

A year or two ago I used to indulge myself with what I'll call my wealthy woman fantasy. Not that I care how much money someone has. Her imagined wealth provided the scene. I liked to think of myself on the floor of a limousine licking her shoes as it drove through a city.

I pictured her dressed in a retro style, like someone from 1940s movie. She had on a veiled hat of the sort women once wore when in mourning.

The idea of a dominant's eyes being hidden, more likely by shaded or mirrored glasses than a veil has always moved me. Not being able to see his or her eyes: the uncertainty would only deepen your feelings of helplessness.

When I used to scour the web for 'femdom' pictures I remember noticing how many of them had the male slave wearing a hood. Normally the mouth and eyes retained their normal freedom. What was the effect of the hood supposed to be I wondered? Was it meant to be depersonalizing?

The idea of being hooded without it limiting me in some way doesn't resonate with my submissive side. Not that I haven't often pictured myself that way but always with my sight and/or speech blocked. (And I've been very tempted to buy one of those simple spandex hoods with a blindfold built in but doesn't hamper breathing or talking.)

The idea of a dominant wearing a hood has always excited me. You see pictures of that only rarely. But the right mask would give the Dom or Domme the appearance of some primitive and awesome tribal god or goddess.

Your feelings?

Please share your feelings about Hoods. Please stick to the topic of the entry. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Richard
