Wearing Her Collar

We went to Petsmart the other day and Alexandra chose a collar for me to wear.

When we were first talking I asked her if she'd like to select one from the Stockroom's catalog. She told me to choose one myself. I'll confess this hurt me a little.

Our perceptions of collars differed. I was steeped in BDSM lore, she wasn't. For many the collar is the preeminent visible symbol of the owner/slave relationship. Between some couples the collar is always considered the owner's property and the slave may not even be allowed to touch it. Formal collarings are the D/s equivalent of a wedding ceremony.

In conferring the collar I feel that she honors me in accepting my surrender. In wearing it I feel that I express my commitment and trust.

The collar Alexandra selected surprised me: it is dotted with sharp metal studs. I'd expected her to select something very plain.

She thrilled me in also picking out an "educational" collar that has plastic points along the inside and can be tightened with a tug. It isn't as risky as it might sound and will be a wonderful way to learn to be a more satisfactory slave.

There's still the Stockroom collar and another that I picked up years ago. Don't know if they'll see any use. It'd be nice if different collars could be used for different occasions or moods. I guess that sounds a bit too elaborate. But it will be nice if we perhaps do find ways to make elaborations into entertaining games.

I don't have any shirts that would hide even the most discreet of the collars for wearing outside.

In one of the sketches wherein I imagined trying power exchange in public I imagined having a pair of adjustable nipple clamps affixed snugly but not painfully to my nipples as an invisible token of my status.
