Savage re-told a question he received at his column about to make a point about sexual kinkiness: a girl broke up with her boyfriend because he told her that the only reason he had been giving her hour-long foot massages was because he had a foot fetish.
“If you break up with an honest foot fetishist, you’ll end up with a dishonest necrophiliac,” Savage said. He emphasized that sex is not fun 100 percent of the time — in this case he referred to blow jobs — but that sometimes you sacrifice your own happiness for your partner’s.
Trying to always perfectly match your partner’s mood can easily be a self-defeating game.

How very odd. (I have to admit, I didn’t read the link. Probably should, as Savage must be making an additional point - how in the world is enjoying a foot massage a sacrifice?)
I can understand her being upset if that was the only reason he was giving her massages; it sounds rather selfish of him to ignore her gratification completely.
For me, a perfectly acceptable reason would be, for example, “I enjoy making you happy…and I’m a foot fetishist.”
Which is convenient becaue I believe that’s what my pet would say.
I find it utterly delightful that he stays hard the entire time he is massaging my feet.
