Having wandered into a pit of wholesomeness far below ordinary nostalgia - very early TV sitcoms - I felt the need for more traditionally perverse entertainment. Time to try a sexploitation movie.
That urge hits me once every few years. Given my narrow range of interest I spend more time determining what not to try than I do on whatever movies I may select.
The kinds of sexploitation movies I seek are B movies at best. You might say I’m looking for films that are nothing but the pointless shower scene common in old slasher movies. It doesn’t advance the story, is there only in hopes of getting a guy to watch a bad movie.
Actual nudity isn’t required but I do prefer for there to be at least one quick topless scene with maybe only the barest glimpse of breast. Having seen all of Russ Meyer’s black and white films I don’t expect the movie to be entertaining. Just not so awful that I resent the time spent watching.
Softcore porn is out. The simulated screwing ala Cinemax is OK as long as it doesn’t take up too much time. Slow motion sex is intolerable.
Pity the late 50s, early 60s sexploitation films bore me. You have to really have a fixation on women’s hosiery to enjoy watching leg wear put on, removed, then put back on again.
I’m not looking to be aroused but amused by certain kind of shabbiness.
After several hours of digging around Netflix and reading review on All Movie Guide Angel of Destruction
Unsurprisingly the movie wasn’t that much fun: it was mostly a selection of the least intolerable.
But I can imagine many masochistic men getting more enjoyment out of it.
The film stars Maria Ford - no one I’d ever heard of - as a kickboxing force for good. The plot (to be polite): a psycho is murdering women and stalking a pop singer who is planning to make a comeback with a nude music video. I guess there’s a MTV channel that I’ve never heard of. Overall the movie is flat but for the species not really horrible.
The bonus for masochists: watching a topless woman kicking men around. (I can’t deny that has been one of my own violent fantasies.)
The best thing about the movie is the star actually has a nice face. None of those eerie false symmetries from too much plastic surgery common to the female cast of schocky cinema.
If you don’t have a kicking fetish you may enjoy taking a nap more.
