Steel Head Cage

No, it isn’t a scene from an old science fiction movie where the mad scientist has dispatched robot monsters, their minds charged with Element X, out to wreak havoc among mankind.

Continuing my tour of D/s toys that seem on the edgy side we have the fifteen pound steel head cage.
While I’ve often wondered what sensory deprivation would be like, especially if accompanied by pain. But with this scary looking sphere around your skull it’d be almost as if your head had been sent to another dimension while everything below the neck remained behind.
Not that I can afford one (and I can just imagine what she’d think of it).

I don’t think I could keep a straight face if you were wearing that. Not that that’s a bad thing!

Heh: I own one of these. This is a serious peice of no-shittin bondage equipment that one MUST be careful with or you can end up in a heap of trouble, as the only way out without a key or combination is with a set of bolt cutters (This is a BIG warning to those people whom are into self-bondage)
The Sphere can be used standing up with it suspended on a ring from above, or lying down: its too heavy to be used comfortably any other way. The added bit of suspending the sphere is that it acts as a leash: the wearer ain’t moving from that point any time soon!!
Airflow is decent: Each half has a single hole in it for air, plus the seam between the two halves serves to allow more air through, and whatever gap between your neck and the neck ring. I recommend having a fan blowing air nearby.
The sensation is crazy: Your entire head is surrounded by this big metal sphere, and you KNOW you are stuck in it until you get let out. Your vision is severely limited to what you can see through the teeny hole or through the seam if you are lucky enough to have the seam aligned in front of you. You will hear every sound that your head makes in amplified detail: your breathing, the smacking of your lips, etc. Any small bit of tapping done to the outside is also majorly amplified, but any additional sounds beyond that (such as a radio if you should have one playing) is severely muffled.
For those whom Really want to get deep into it, use this sphere in combination with a blindfold and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, and if you Really want an out-of-this-world experience add in a close-fitting gas mask underneath: This combination produced a deep-dark-desolate sensation that was too much even for me!!
The only complaint I have is that if used without some sort of neckwear (like a thick headband or a leather neckliner worn around the neck), the skin around your neck will get constantly pinched between the two halves if you move around. Other than that, its a Fantastic way to meditate!!!
