Well, that would be the tabloid version.

These value judgments are left to those individuals who believe that their self reference criteria can be projected on to the larger population. It is for those individuals who have elevated their submission to the heights of spiritualism and faith, and who have convinced themselves that those who are not “true believers” are inadequately submissive or just haven’t discovered the true path to their happiness.

Candace

I refuse to wallow in anger over what S/someone I don't know, or care about, writes to Me or about Me. I accept that some P/people think that T/they know everything about certain subjects and/or about every subject known to H/humankind. I accept that some P/people think that T/They can psychoanalyze a P/person that T/they don't even know, in a few short words or acronyms.

My advice... do not write about what you do not know. Grab a book, hit a site. I am sure you could find something to learn. Something that would make you look just a tad bit like you know what the hell you are talking about.

Goddess-Isis-Moon

When I saw today's entries on a few LFA Blogspot blogs my first fear was that perhaps I'd given offence. Normally I blunt my own prejudices in some of my postings here but have let my cultural disconnection from a few three letter acronyms leak through at times (though also congratulating those who have found happiness through them).

Eventually I figured out that a popular middlebrow Femdom blogger had given offence to Candace of Woman Rules Roost, a woman who over the summer emerged as one of the most attractive spokeswoman for loving female authority.

This is one of those tiny transient tempests that will pass into oblivion quickly enough.

It all put to my mind my biggest failing here over the last several months. I've tended to blunt my own words at times not wanting to disturb some of my readers and virtual friends.

I've at times thinking of a gentlewoman reader and pull back a bit from writing about some of the lurid pleasures that Alexandra and I share. Usually I make up for that by remembering a wonderfully sadistic woman who has left many comments that I treasure.

But fear of giving hypothetical discomfort is a vice in a personal site. When I write for anyone other than myself I'm addressing the wrong audience. It isn't as if I fret about the vanilla people who Google misleads here.

As I wander around the web I feel a universal interest in female domination. I've comment on blogs and posted on forums that don't focus on any of my main fetishes. Lately I've been having a good time on a gynarchist blog and I have no belief in female superiority much less supremacy.

I haven't made an effort to trace this brouhaha to the beginning. But I'd suggest:

  • Trust in online communications should come slowly.
  • The goal is to share and have a good time while doing so.
  • Be ready for disagreement, sometimes harshly stated. One person's straightforward honesty may be your idea of rudeness.
  • Trolls and flame wars have been a part of the internet since before the web was added to it. They aren't going away.
  • If you really don't like a comment delete it and forget about it: don't personalize comments from strangers. You'll wear yourself out.
  • Ask yourself what effect a comment has on your life. None, right?
  • A sense of humor is the supreme requirement.

The glory of the web is pluralism. Try to always accept very different lifestyle choices. Many people think they know a "truth." Probably they don't. You'll never persuade them otherwise.

If something annoys you: close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, relax, give yourself a treat and toss it from your mind.

Comments

Something that I’ve noticed in the chastity groups and some of the other BDSM related groups is that some of the folks are very quick to dismiss others, while being seemingly unaware that they are guilty of doing what they, themselves deplore from the vanillas. I realize that this is a sociological pattern that happens across cultures, but still it’s sad/funny to see.

The Edge of Vanilla

I suspect the first fetish or munch group meeting had people debating about which way was correct.

I used to get hate emails from conventional gay men because I like femme guys.

Some transsexuals look down on transvestites as not really being transgendered.

And those poor folks who get into fist fights over which football team is best.

I’ve been playing around with either a brief blog entry (zenfetish.com) or an entire piece for Sex Kitten (sex-kitten.net) addressing what I see as a major (and sad) development in the world of kink/BDSM/fetish/FemDom—that being the emergence of rules, boxes and written-in-stone categorizations to just about every facet of this new (and what was once “freeing”) expression of human sexuality.

The working title, Kinky is the New Vanilla, just about says it all. And I really need to write this, because it has been boiling for quite a while, as I find these classifications, these structures such a detriment to any type of sexuality.

Quite frankly, the smallness of it all is droll and says a lot about the participants—certainly not someone on whom with I would want waste my heart, soul, friendship or quality time.

It leaves a bad born-again, zealot taste in my mouth. If someone needs rules that bad, I suspect they are not great thinkers. When I’ve taken the time and effort to test my theory…I’ve always been right on the money—each and every time.

Thanks, Richard, for the linkage and always pointing the way. And thanks for being awesomely devoted to truth and quality on the web. You have my vote! And my deepest respect. ~~Angela
