Awkwardness and Confusion in D/s

Wondering about D/s ceremonies and rituals naturally led thinking about D/s protocols and whether or not we could get any joy or benefit from them. But neither of us is much given to formality (which then again might be what would give them effect - you just never know).
One of the sketches I never wrote - because I don't write well enough to capture the pacing - was being forced to assume various standard slave positions rapidly and repeatedly until I became clumsy and confused.
I've sometimes pictured myself in awkward bondage: chains too short or wrist chained to ankle or something equally encumbering. Forced gracelessness and bumbling is humiliating.
Induced confusion is both humbles and reinforces the sense of helplessness.
It did hit me that having to overcome being hampered and distraction would force me to make a greater effort on serving which in itself might be worthwhile.
