I’ve sometimes called the need to be humiliated masochism of the heart. A whip burns into the nerves of our skin. Being degraded reaches directly into our skulls, often rousing the most deep rooted parts of us that need to worship.
And to suffer. I know some of you don’t want to receive or give emotional of physical pain. Though a simple monosyllable like pain hardly encompasses what the experience is for me.

To be fair what is humiliating isn’t always a distinct thread within the whole fabric of my surrender. Say, being made less able, my few minutes in the posture collar while not explicitly degrading frequently reappears in my mind. For me:

Being spat upon. Alexandra once spat on me repeatedly. I think it was only a few times. It felt like many. I thought I’d crawl out of my skin. Recollected in tranquility it lives on in my memory as an evening I treasure.
