I’d long known of Craigslist but never visited the site.

Folks have been advising me to try it. On first glance the Raleigh/Durham Men For Men section can be summed up as “nsa bj tonite.” No harm in that. I used personal ads in print papers years ago to find bottoms for both one night stands and romance.

A few days ago - perhaps because I was high - I posted a note to say I’m searching for a local sadist. Four or five sentence: long by Craighslist standard. Short by my own (a personal I’m working is about two thousand words long at present).

Imagine my surprise when I got a response in less than an hour. Alas all he was looking for was fellatio. But his tone was civil - funny how much that comes to matter in the land of online personals -, he sent a photo of his face and his handle was clever. Had I been prepared I might even have invited him over. As a gay male top that was something most of the guys I’ve been with wanted. And it has been several years since Charles. Another man’s penis begins to seem like something out of legend.

Which makes me suspect he read my ad on the Bizarro World edition of CL: that he is a masochist.

I sent him a quick response, asking him to tell me more about what he’s looking for. No reply. Perhaps he chickened out the moment he wrote me and is cowering in fear the FBI will knock at his door.

I continue to suspect that when I want to get serious alt.com will get some of my money.
