Cowboy Quirt & Single Tale Whip

Thuddy vs. stinging is a perennial topic among masochists. Which taps most deeply into your pleasure in pain.

Even as a S&M virgin I suspected I’d like stinging pain the best.

Which isn’t to dismiss floggers and instruments that slap into the skin with a thud. My primary whipping fantasies are concerti of thuds, slaps and cracks.

The two devices that Alexandra have used on me that are the best at “hurting so good” are the single tail and cowboy quirt.

That the physics of the thing should’ve told me that sharp edges would hurt more than blunt. When Alexandra said she wanted a flogger with metal tips I gulped and got one. Swung with insane violence I’m sure the flogger would be dangerous. But the edgeless metal tips are really mildly thuddy. (Yeah, I was disappointed.)

Single Tail Whip

Pain from a single tale is sharp and the essence of stinging. For a fraction of a moment where it hits is like a hot flash. I have dim memories of trying almost to climb into the couch to get away. But the sting is powerfully erotic. When it strikes the masochist’s sweet spot - the middle of the buttocks from (in my case) about halfway down to the upper thighs - the effect is lascivious. “Yes, more” and “No stop” wage a war in my brain.

While a single tail can be dangerous in careless hands, safely used, there’s no part of my body on which it can’t be used. Unlike a cane I’m not distracted worrying about my spine.

Cowboy Quirt

Not quite as sharp a sting but a more forceful impact. I’ve been either too drunk with masochistic ecstasy or wondering if I’m about to give up to be able to capture exactly how it differs from the single tail.
