Sjambok (Prelude)

I’ve been using the sjambok for about 2 years now. Like all canes, I think, the key is a controlled, practiced arm motion. I hate the rippled handle on the model I have (the longer one), so I choke up just above it. The longer model can “float” and hit somewhere other than where you’re aiming if you swing too hard. Because it’s whippy, the last inch hurts more than the rest of the length put together. I try to wrap it just enough to put the tip on the midway point between the hip and the spine. I’ve never used it anywhere except the ass and the back of the thighs - I don’t think hitting the back with it would be a good idea.

Real Sjamboks were used for official government sanctioned judicial punishments in South Africa, until the 1960s. Unofficially they were used until much later. I have witnessed them in action. Always an awe inspiring and frightening experience. The more ample female derriere seemed to absorb the force better than the male, but both would come out striped and raw, often bleeding.

My mistress who has used cane very effectively in my buttocks has become interested in using a sjambok she received as a gift from a friend. She wants to use it on me, and although she hasn’t used it so far, I know that it is only a matter of days. I trust my mistress completely, but reading about sjambok gives me shivers. I look forward to the next level of pain that my mistress will take me. I will write my experience as and when it happens. In the meantime, does someone else has an experience to share?

Alexandra hasn’t used it on me much at all and then very lightly because it is so difficult to control. Some models are not as hard to maneuver but just as potentially deadly.

Thinking about it this morning it occurred to me that by focusing on the upper thighs to lower buttocks the risks can probably be minimized.

My wife has on a few occasions used a rubber sjambok on me. We acquired it some time last year. You can see it at http://www.swtchr2.com/sjambok.htm The handle is very artfully braided (ours is black and red) - much nicer than the one from “Cold Steel”, although the shaft is probably identical.

It is severe, no doubt. A bit like a heavy cane, but even heavier and not as whippy. The pain from the sjambok is more dull than the one from a cane but just as vicious if not more so! The advice given to use it only on the buttocks and top of the thighs is certainly resonable. Also it is not necessary to use much force. Be careful not to wrap it around the buttocks too much!

She’s used it at times when she was employing wide ranges of canes and floggers. But never devoted an extended interval to just the sjambok. An instrument that you have to be so very careful with can detract from sheer uninhibited fun. Though I imagine there’ll come the night she decides it should be the feature player of the evening.

My master and I were given a sjambok several months ago by some friends of ours that are both Doms. Since Master has broken several canes on my ass, we find that this is much better. Yes, it is a very intense toy and it took a lot of practice to learn how to use it correctly, but we both find it very pleasurable. Once Master has me worked up to where I can take the sjambok, (I’m usually deep in subspace at this point) it’s not at all unusual for me to ask for more. Unfortunately, I have a leather butt, and I very rarely have marks, no matter what Master uses.
