The Cane

Alexandra's favorite instrument of control is a 30" rattan cane. Even though when acting as her property I'm strongly motivated to obey a stroke with the cane is very motivating.
So far Alexandra hasn't exceeded three consecutive strokes but by the end of the last I couldn't move more quickly to comply with her orders. (Though naturally later I wonder what five would've felt like).
It took me a bit to adjust to the cane. While I'd fantasized about formal canings my masochistic dream life has normally been filled with whips. But the sort of floggers in the house right now probably wouldn't be as safely used while I'm moving around on the floor. And the kind of whipping I've always craved probably would be more than I can (yet) endure if done with a cane.
One morning I discovered the prior evening's play had left a couple of bruises that took a few days to heal. My temporary scars gave me great pleasure.

I have spanked with hand and with paddle (leather and rubber) my submissive and I am considering the next step. I have been thinking of caning her. It seems more subtle than simple spanking. Not to quibble but it depends:
The effect of a rattan cane ouch! isnt the same as, say, a fiberglass cane OUCH!
Perhaps it you use it very gently.
Theres a huge range of floggers from soft to tough allowing for a broad palette of effects.
Offhand I probably think of slappy and stingy leather things as sort of sensuous.
Not sure if this is any help at all.
