Hooray for Lust!

I’ve been writing entries for many of my sites today. Some of them have been so sadly neglected since the breakup.

And it struck me that something was missing. And is eerily absent in much discussion of kink and fetish. Not by everybody. But some of us are all too consumed by the urge to make the world a better place for kink. And many poor saps are so pious about their fetishes that they forget what the ultimate root of them really is.

Lust.

Lets hear it for lust.

That batty erotic magnetism that has rendered many of us at times awkward, shy, hungry, silly. A bright burning drive that has taken us out of our shells and thrust us into the world at large.

Lust can make us giddy, sad, delirious, mad. We forgo our self-respect and willingly make idiots of ourselves.

As much as we regret our pratfalls and resent our failures we’re better for them. The need - if nothing else will - connects us with the rest of the human race. It explodes our vanity and teaches us how common we can be.

How much good prose, art and music has been born of mere carnal desire?

How sad that we should feel a need to discuss sex with sobriety, to be horny with piety.

Lust is good. Lust is joy.
