Everybody knows the positive pleasure that follows the cessation of pain. Likewise the ending of illness sparks optimism.
Earlier today a friend said that I looked much better. Then I realized: I’m not coughing, I can breathe. I’d become so habituated to feeling unwell that my recovery hadn’t registered.

Now you are feeling recovered remember to nurture yourself for a while, it is all to easy to push oneself too far too fast and get knocked back again.
